Sunday, the House of France will be celebrating Bastille Day at their annual Lawn Program at the Balboa Park International Cottages. At Liberty Station, there will be an all-day Eid Festival. At St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Del Mar, members of the San Diego Symphony and FF Collective are partnering with a Ukrainian refugee flutist to perform a Benefit Concert to fund relief efforts for 60 members of Ukraine’s premier youth orchestra who are displaced in Poland because of the war in their home region. Opera Neo’s season-opening Aria Gala will introduce the 2022 young artists, each singing a signature aria.
Monday, the Timken Museum will host a talk with artist Marianela de la Hoz whose works are on exhibit at the museum. The Cinema Society of San Diego is hosting a summer series of films on Mondays and Tuesdays. Next week's film is Noodle. It appears they are focused on selling series passes rather than individual tickets.
Tuesday, Farhad Bahrami will lead his Electric Ud Trio for a concert at the Jazz Lounge located near SDSU. Should be splendid! Seun Kuti and his Afrobeat band Egypt 80 will perform at the Belly Up.
Next Wednesday, the House of Mexico will host Flavors of Yucatan at their cottage in Balboa Park. Once again the film biopic drama Selena will be screened atop the Marriott downtown. Mexican garage rock band Los Dug Dug's will perform at the Casbah.
Next Thursday, international soloists from the renowned iPalpiti Orchestra will perform an international program at the Encinitas Library.
Next Friday kicks off San Diego Pride festivities all around San Diego with the 2-day Pride Festival starting on Saturday (note: other Pride events are included in our listing). Also on Friday, the mind-bending Sci-Fi romp Everything, Everywhere, All at Once will be screened outdoors atop the Hyatt.
Next Saturday, at the Hazard Center UltraStar the Hong Kong set film May You Stay Forever Young will be shown. An International Mariachi Summit Gala Concert will take place at the Civic Theatre. The outdoor (Amici Park) Little Italy summer film series continues with a showing of Nuovomondo (The Golden Door).
Next Sunday, the House of Colombia will host its annual Lawn Program at the International Cottages. At the Old Globe, Thinking Shakespeare Live!, will be a lively exploration of the language of Shakespeare.
